Junior Smith

Junior Smith is a well-known guitarist in southwest Ohio. Mostly self-taught (except for that private lesson with Joe Pass!), Junior has his own jazz quartet, his own rock band, is a member of a bluegrass band, and free-lances with country bands. When he's not playing in a band somewhere, he can be found in the recording studio (his session work can be heard on a number of recordings), or at area music stores where he teaches dozens of students. One of his career highlights (besides the Joe Pass lesson) was to play mandolin with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra in their performance of Mahler's Symphony of a Thousand.

Junior wrote the Cool Licks lesson module that comes with the registered version of Guitar Workshop. He is working on Cool Licks II (intermediate level) which will have a country flavor, but will be useful for other styles as well.
